  • Base Preparation:
  • Be sure that the surface area where the pavers will be placed is clean from dirt or any other debris. If you use water, allow drying time before installing.
  • Installation With Clips:
  • For a dry application, clips are recommended. This will prevent the mats from separating. Put the clip under the mat evenly dividing the teeth between the connecting mats. Use a ball-pin hammer and strike the mat above where the clip has been laid. These clips are also for cinching gaps.
  • Installation With Adhesive:
  • WTP recommends using our water base Poly Urethane adhesive. A dime size bead on the four corners of the pavers, is all that is needed. For a driveway application you would want to place the adhesive along the perimeter and center of the paver.
  • Expansion/Retraction:
  • Due to that fact that this is a tire-derived product, there will be a slight expansion in the heat, and retraction in the cooler temperatures. To avoid this, we recommend the product be adhered to its surface.

  • Laying down the Paving Mats:
  • The best method of alignment for installing the pavers is to locate the center of your working area. Once that has been determined, work your way out to the edges from the center using a cross pattern. Mats my have to be flipped around in order to match the other patterns. It is better to trim off any excess at the edges where mistakes or imperfections can be easily skewed. A heavy-duty carpet or utility knife is recommended for all trimming.

  • Cleaning:
  • One of the many advantages in using California Pavers to cover those imperfect foundations is the easy cleaning. With a regular garden hose and broom scrubber, you can wash off most dirt. A pressure washer is recommended for a heavily soiled surface.
  • Tools Needed:
  • Gloves; Mask; Safety Glasses; Shovel; Straight Edge
Measuring Tape; Carpet Knife; WTP Adhesive; WTP Clips; ball-pin hammer Sand (Optional).

  • Additional Information:
  • All colors will fade to some degree dependent upon the weather conditions in that particular locale. Benchmark rate of 57% per year when the pavers are exposed to prolonged periods of direct sunlight. Color lot variations will occur due to varying factors like ambient mold temperatures, adhesive cure rates and therefore it is important to order enough pavers for the entire job when ordering--at least 5% extra.
